When you’re having an errands day, the most important thing is being comfortable. However, we’ve found that looking cute can contribute to an overall more fun experience, whether you enjoy checking off your to-do list or not. Here’s what we would wear when we’re trekking about town — from chic sweatshirts to sporty tees — so you can find inspiration to get sh*t done.

Looking for more affordable, stylish clothes? Here’s what to wear when working, traveling, and playing — and picks for your kids, too.

activewear-set
FP Movement

An activewear set that’s TikTok-viral…

This set has sold out multiple times thanks to its popularity on TikTok — and for good reason. It’s a foolproof solution to getting dressed. It comes with the outfit Princess Diana made famous: an oversized sweatshirt with bike shorts. But the funnel neck on the top makes it so chic. ($148, FP Movement)

rollneck-sweater
J.Crew

A rollneck sweater you’ll reach for constantly…

This is the definition of a classic J.Crew sweater. It’s made of thick-knit cotton with a relaxed fit, but still makes you feel put together every time you throw it on. Pair it with jeans on the weekends, then dress it up with trousers for the office. ($98, J.Crew)

Buy it
leggings
Old Navy

Our favorite Old Navy leggings…

You can wear these straight from your Pilates class to the grocery store, and you’ll be comfortable no matter how many stops you make. They’re high-waisted but not constricting, and there’s a matching top to make you feel even more put together. ($13.99+, Old Navy)

sporty-tee
Anthropologie

A sporty tee for running all over town…

We’re seeing a lot of jersey-inspired fashion this year, and this tee is a great way to dip your toe. It’s similar to a shirt Carrie Bradshaw wore during the dreaded Berger episodes (real ones know). Pair it with athletic shorts, jeans, or leggings; there’s not a bottom it wouldn’t look good with. ($68, Anthropologie)

bike-shorts
Lululemon

The bike shorts we always go back to…

We own multiple pairs of these Align shorts, and they’re the first thing we put on to grab coffee, walk the dog, go to Target, etc. The buttery fabric is so soft and doesn’t bunch or ride up. Plus, the 6-inch length is perfect. It’s just long enough to peek out from a sweatshirt, but not so long that it cuts our legs in a weird way. ($64, Lululemon)

Buy it
low-rise-jeans
Abercrombie & Fitch

Low-rise jeans that aren’t as intimidating as you think…

These are the jeans that made us like low-rise again. If you’re normally averse to wearing jeans for errands days, these feel like wearing denim sweatpants. We’ve even worn them when traveling. Get your usual size if you want them baggy, but if you want them fitted, we would size down. ($90, Abercrombie & Fitch)

hoodie
Aritzia

The perfect cozy hoodie…

We have it on good authority that this is the most comfortable hoodie. We’re not sure what kind of witchcraft is involved in the making of Aritzia fleece fabric, but the weight is just right. It only gets softer with wear, and there are many matching pant options. ($85, Aritzia)

Buy it
sweater
Quince

A boyfriend sweater you’ll throw on all the time…

Maturing is understanding the importance of a good crewneck sweater. Layer it over a white tee with jeans, and you’re giving off-duty model in the best way. You can even use it to dress up a workout set. The sky blue is a need. ($39.90, Quince)

Buy it
workout-tank
Nordstrom

A workout tank that doesn’t require a bra…

This tank is made of soft, buttery fabric that moves with you and isn’t suffocating. The built-in bra provides enough support that you don’t have to wear a sports bra, so if you’re throwing on layers after a workout class, you won’t overheat. Plus, the length is just right for high-waisted leggings. ($68, Nordstrom)

Buy it
hat
Nordstrom

A logo hat with a cheeky message...

We’re obsessed with all things Favorite Daughter, including their logo baseball cap. The best way to top off your running errands outfit is with a cheeky hat, whether you’re the favorite daughter or the only daughter. ($48, Nordstrom)

Buy it
boxer-pants
Anthropologie

Pajama pants you can wear out of the house…

These boxer pants are made of soft cotton and have a wide leg that makes them appropriate for leaving your bed. The key to this trend is wearing something a little dressier on top, like a button-up shirt or frilly blouse. ($68, Anthropologie)

Buy it
rugby-shirt
Old Navy

A rugby shirt that looks more expensive than it is…

We’re loving rugby polo shirts lately, and this one has the perfect oversized fit that still looks polished. Any of the colorways are worth grabbing. You can wear it with shorts now, then with jeans when it’s chilly. ($34.99, Old Navy)

Buy it
cashmere-hoodie
Naadam

A cashmere hoodie you can also travel in…

While this is definitely an investment, a cashmere hoodie will never go out of style. You can wear it as a top or throw it over a tee as a light layer. One editor has been wearing Naadam cashmere for years and says it really holds up. ($228, Naadam)

Buy it
pumas
Nordstrom

A pair of trendy sneakers…

We’ve been seeing a lot of Puma Speedcats among the fashion crowd. The slim sneaker is versatile for wearing with both athletic wear and dresses. Thanks to its durable suede and leather exterior, it barely needs any breaking in and can go for miles. One editor wore these all around Europe, and her feet didn’t get hot once. ($100, Nordstrom)

Buy it
donni-pants
Revolve

A comfy pair of pants by one of our favorite brands…

We’re obsessed with all things Donni, and this is how you do a lounge pant you can wear outside. It’s a nice neutral color, made of soft jersey fabric that’s not too slouchy, and has a lovely little scalloped hem. The matching tee makes the outfit complete. ($158, Revolve)

Buy it
uggs
Anthropologie

A fresh pair of Uggs for fall…

New year, new Uggs. These have a lower back than the Ultra Mini version, so they’re easier to slip on and off. But they still have the same soft sheepskin lining and treaded sole that allows you to wear your slippers as you’re running around. ($150, Anthropologie)

huggies
BaubleBar

A pair of birthstone huggies you’ll never take off…

Choose from one of 12 birthstone options, securely clasp them in any piercing spot, and wear them forever. They’re 18-karat gold-plated, so they’ll stay shinier than most. They also make a great gift. ($64, BaubleBar)
