A pair of relaxed jeans you’ll want to wear all the time…
If you buy one pair of jeans from this list, make it the pair our editors cannot stop talking about (or wearing). This ‘90s-inspired pair have a high-rise with a leg that’s relaxed in all the right places. You can dress them up for a night out or add a tee and sneakers for running errands. These are the jeans Rachel Green would lounge around in. ($90, Abercrombie & Fitch)

A pair of wide-leg jeans that look vintage…
Old Navy has really stepped up their denim game. These are mid-rise, so they sit lower on the hips but won’t make every shirt a crop top. The denim leans toward rigid, so they have a nice, worn-in look, but have a little stretch so you won’t be jumping around to get into them. ($39.99+, Old Navy)

A pair of Levi’s with a just-right barrel leg…
Barrel leg jeans are here to stay. This Levi’s pair has a subtle curve of the leg, so it won’t look too baggy, even if you’re petite. The knee darts are a nice added touch, and the lived-in wash makes them look like you’ve been wearing them forever. ($108, Levi’s)

A heeled black bootie you can wear everywhere…
We’re hearing rumblings that a square toe is the moment for this fall — but in our minds, it’s always been in style. If you’re like us and you wear your black booties into the ground, let us introduce you to your next pair. They’re impossibly chic and so comfortable, they can go for miles. ($200, Nordstrom)

An affordable Quince pair…
Yes, Quince makes jeans, too. These have a kick-flare leg, making them a great companion for booties and heels alike. They’re made of organic cotton with more stretch than most, so if rigid denim feels too constricting for you, these are your new best friend. ($50, Quince)

A pair of bootcut jeans from a trending brand…
Mother is the it brand for this season, and since we’ve been wearing their jeans for years, we can confirm they’re worth the price. This bootcut pair will stand out from the rest, with its vintage wash and distressed hem. They look like the jeans Bella Hadid wears when cheering on her cowboy boyfriend (complimentary). ($248, Free People)

The original Boston Birkenstock…
When we bought these on a whim, we had no idea how essential they would be to our fall/winter wardrobe. Not only do we wear these supremely comfy clogs on a coffee run, to a Pilates class, or to the grocery store, but they also look surprisingly polished with jeans or trousers to the office. They also come with shearling lining. ($170, Free People)

A loose pair that’s so comfortable, we’d wear them to travel…
Abercrombie really outdid themselves with this pair. They have a low-rise fit with a wider, extra-loose leg — think sweats, in denim form. We feel so cool when we wear these with sneakers and a cute top, and the lightweight denim means you won’t get hot, even if you’re seated in 32F. ($90, Abercrombie & Fitch)

A pair of buttery-soft ballet flats…
Ballet flats are still going strong, especially unique pairs like this pointed-toe version. The leather is so soft that it won’t require breaking in, and they have extra insole padding, which makes them great for commuting. We love the dainty bow on top. ($69.90, Quince)

Nike sneakers that are even better in person…
We've been seeing these on Gen-Zers, and we can confirm that they're one of the more wearable sneaker trends out there. With sleeker, more sporty styles trending, these are the perfect fall sneakers. They look almost futuristic and make a simple jeans-and-a-tee or athleisure outfit look cool. ($115, Nike)

A relaxed pair with an interesting wash…
If you find yourself reaching for light wash jeans every day, why not switch it up with these? They’re mid-rise, slouchy, and have a gray-ish wash that sets them apart from your other paler pairs. The cargo pant-inspired design gives them a cool, utilitarian vibe. ($148, Anthropologie)

A ballet flat/sneaker combo…
We’ve been raving about the return of the Puma Speedcat, but this shoe is the comeback we didn’t see coming. This ballet sneaker version is quirkier than usual, but it still has the same comfortable insole. Wear them with frilly socks and a skirt, why not? ($80, Anthropologie)

The new version of our favorite booties…
This is objectively a perfect pair of heeled booties. One of our editors has this boot in black patent leather and has been wearing them nonstop for probably five years, so she’s investing in another pair. What makes them great is the not-too-high heel height, the square toe that never pinches, and the way they dress up a pair of jeans instantly. Plus, the burnished snakeskin will act like a neutral. ($495, Staud)

A pair of sailor jeans that come in so many sizes…
Between the ultra high-rise fit and the wide legs, these sailor jeans will make you look 10 feet tall. They have the three buttons on the front that’s true to the style, and they come in four washes. Bonus points for the amazing size range that spans from 00-40. ($148, Universal Standard)

A slingback heel that’s still comfy…
All hail the continuing popularity of the kitten heel, without which we would be in much more pain. These pumps are great for dressing up your jeans outfit to the office or adding a little flair to a fall dress. The deep red is nice for a pop of color. ($89.90, Nordstrom)
