Products you buy through our links may earn us a commission. Oh, and if something's out of stock, oops, it was there (and all prices were accurate) at time of publication.

We’ll admit it: One major perk of our job as editors is that we get to try out tons of products to let you know if they’re truly worth your hard-earned money. We’re also just avid shoppers, so in the spirit of tossing gatekeeping to the curb, we’re sharing a few standout favorites from the past month that we usually reserve for the group chat. Welcome to the inside scoop.

clogs
Commbi

A pair of comfy clogs with removable footbeds...

I recently received a sample of these suede shoes and was really intrigued by the removable footbeds. Each one was developed with podiatrists to create a footbed that's supportive and comfortable — with arch support, a deep heel cup, and dual-layer memory foam. They're perfect to throw on if I'm doing my laundry (I live in an apartment building, so laundry is downstairs) or running to get a cup of coffee or breakfast sandwich. For the winter, I'm using the sherpa footbeds, but I can also switch those out down the road once the weather gets warmer. —Alexandra Napoli ($235, Commbi)

Marine Layer

Our new throw-on-and-go sweater...

I really can't take the credit for finding Marine Layer. My boyfriend did on a work trip and came home with a few new pieces that I immediately loved. I ended up testing some of the women's clothing and really love it so far. This sweater polo has become my new throw-on item, and since I traveled the majority of October, it was a staple piece to throw into a suitcase and pair with jeans or trousers. I can definitely see myself shopping from this brand from now on, and with the holidays coming up so soon, I plan to add a few sweaters to my wish list. —Alexandra Napoli ($135, Marine Layer)

pants
Vuori

A pair of Vuori pants that live up to the hype...

With so many Vuori devotees in my life and a Euro trip looming, I bought these pants, hoping they would be comfortable on the long flight and upgrade my airport ’fit. I was more than pleased that they did both. Vuori is definitely onto something with this fabric; I was worried I would get too hot (especially since I paired it with the matching cardigan), but the stretchy material breathes and regulates temperature so much better than sweatpants. They look clean and classic, and I love that the drawstrings are on the inside so nothing is hanging out. They’re definitely an investment, but I know I’ll be wearing them to run errands all the time. —Martha Upton ($108, Nordstrom)

banu
Banu Skin

A new skincare brand we're loving...

I've been adoring this new skincare brand, Banu. It's for acne-prone skin, but I've found that it even works well for my sensitive skin. My two favorite products: the Chamomile Jelly Cleanser, the most perfectly soothing, creamy jelly cleanser that gently removes dirt, sweat, SPF, and makeup; and the Sulfur Spot Treatment for any redness and breakouts (it doesn't transfer onto my sheets). I love how effective, yet gentle everything is, and the price point is pretty solid, too. —Margo Ghertner ($30, Banu Skin)

apotheke
Apotheke

A chic candle that's more affordable than others...

Hot tip: This Apotheke candle is a very good dupe for Diptyque Feu de Bois (my ride-or-die candle that I simply can't always justify shelling out $80 for). It has a rich, woodsy scent with a hint of sweetness to cut through the smoke. The minimalist black packaging is the stuff of my elevated-goth dreams. I'll be burning this right through March. —Caroline Goldstein ($46, Apotheke)

literie
Literie

A candle that makes us nostalgic...

One of my favorite memories from living Upstate (shoutout Syracuse) is going apple picking in the fall, and this candle brought that memory straight to my apartment. It smells so good and only took a few minutes to fill the whole place. So, to my fellow New Yorkers (and anyone chasing cozy fall vibes), trust me, you’ll love this one. —Sarai Thompson ($48, Literie)

backpack
Lo & Sons

A backpack that fits everything we need and more...

This summer, I was on a mission to find the perfect commuter backpack. While there are a lot out there, this one from Lo & Sons became a quick favorite after a week of continued use. It comes with an insert that divides the interior into two sections: a top shelf for quick access to my essentials like my headphones, ID, and phone, and a bottom compartment (easily accessible by a hidden zipper on the front) to throw in my lunch, water, and snacks. But the insert is removable if that's not your thing. The nylon material is sleek and water-resistant, and it has four tiny legs so it won't get dirty when I plop it on the subway floor. 10/10. —Alessandra Rey ($242.50+, Lo & Sons)

ratchet-mill
Sur La Table

A ratchet mill that's more sustainable...

After my boyfriend and I moved in together, we decided we wanted to upgrade our kitchen essentials. He loves to cook and reminded me of the importance of minimizing plasticware. We decided to replace our store-bought salt and pepper grinders with these ratchet mills from Sur La Table. Not only do they look great on the countertop when not in use, they also allow us to choose our preferred grind thickness (from coarse to fine) and not pop a blood vessel in the process. Currently we use ours for black peppercorns and Himalayan pink salt, but we're excited to try other spices as well. —Alessandra Rey ($29.95, Sur La Table)
