Products you buy through our links may earn us a commission. Oh, and if something's out of stock, oops, it was there (and all prices were accurate) at time of publication.

We’ll admit it: One major perk of our job as editors is that we get to try out tons of products to let you know if they’re truly worth your hard-earned money. We’re also just avid shoppers, so in the spirit of tossing gatekeeping to the curb, we’re sharing a few standout favorites from the past month that we usually reserve for the group chat. Welcome to the inside scoop.

powder
Sephora

The powder we never leave the house without...

I'm an oily T-zone girl — even more so in the summer. This mineral powder from Innisfree is my unsung hero year-round, but especially from June to August. It's compact, so it fits in every handbag I have. I keep one in my backpack for work commutes, one in my crossbody, etc. It absorbs sweat instantly, so I go from slick to matte within a few minutes. It doesn't affect my makeup or leave a cast. I simply pat around my forehead, nose, and chin, and I'm back to smooth skin. —Alexandra Napoli ($14, Sephora)

brush
Nordstrom

An investment hair brush that's worth the price...

I looked over one morning and realized that the hair brush I was currently using was one I had received years ago in a bachelorette gift bag, so I figured it was time for a new one. I wanted something that would look aesthetically pleasing on my vanity tray and could handle my thick, wavy, often-tangled hair. This one from Bur Bur is a masterpiece. It has two types of bristles — boar bristles to add shine and stimulate the scalp, and nylon bristles to detangle — and a beechwood handle that’s so pretty. I never understood the hype behind brushing your hair every day, but after seeing the difference this makes, put me in a tower and call me Rapunzel. —Martha Upton ($72, Nordstrom)

razor
Flamingo

A razor that puts all others to shame...

The skincare hack I discovered this month that I can't stop talking about: using this Pubic Hair Razor from Flamingo all over. I am prone to strawberry skin every time I shave, and it turns out it's because the shave hasn't been close enough with my old razor. This one gently removes hair right at the skin, which has ensured the skin on my legs, underarms, and bikini line is smooth and bump-free. I'm never using another razor ever again. —Margo Ghertner ($10, Flamingo)

shorts
Patagonia

Our new summer shorts fixation...

I’d heard the lore of the Patagonia Baggies, and this summer, I bit the bullet and got myself a pair. Can confirm they’re the perfect pair of non-denim shorts for summer: crisp, swishy, and sweat-wicking. I also think they’re low-key chic, especially with the rise of the athletic short trend. My go-to WFH uniform has been these with a cropped tee and sneakers, but I might pull a Zoe Kravitz and try them with dainty sandals. —Caroline Goldstein ($69, Patagonia)

tinted-moisturizer
Jones Road

Our new favorite tinted moisturizer...

I haven’t personally worn foundation in almost a year (unless it’s a special occasion), but I still want something that evens out my skin tone and gives an “I woke up like this” vibe. Just Tinted Moisturizer is my latest obsession, and a reminder that Jones Road never steers me wrong. I apply it with a brush, spritz on a little Charlotte Tilbury setting spray, add some lip gloss and lashes...and just like that, my summer glam is complete. —Sarai Thompson ($44, Jones Road)

serum
Amazon

A hyaluronic acid serum that actually makes a difference...

I've been working on updating my skincare routine since I've been spending a lot of time outside. This hyaluronic acid boosting serum and collagen-rich hydration cream from PCA Skin have been saving my skin after long pool days. I apply the serum after cleansing and toning and almost immediately feel its softening and smoothing effects. My skin feels super hydrated for a full 24 hours. So yes, I'm telling everyone and their mother about these two. —Alessandra Rey ({{dynamicPrice}}, Amazon)
