What I Tested…
First Layer Pajama Short Sleeve Tee ($59.90)
First Layer Pajama Boxer Short ($52.50)
Psst…I also recommend their Bamboo Stretch-Knit Short Sleeve Pajama Set ($128)

Why I Tested…

How I Tested...
I wore Cozy Earth’s First Layer pajama set every night to sleep for two weeks and took notes on everything from material and durability, to style and care.
Test Results...
Breathability. When I first ripped open the package, I noticed how soft and cool to the touch these PJs are. The material is made with a bamboo viscose and premium Supima cotton blend that is supposed to be optimal for heat regulation. Spoiler alert: It is. I slept through the entire night without overheating, and had zero sweat stains by the time I woke up.
Durability. In the time I’ve owned this set, I’ve washed it about three times. The color (I went with Dawn) hasn’t faded at all and the seams have all stayed intact. The tee and boxers retained their original shape and size, and shorts’ wide elastic band didn’t stretch out, making me confident they’ll keep for a while.
Style. This shirt-and-short combo is a good option for anyone looking for classic, non-nonsense PJs. The star of the show here is the fabric, and while the fit is insanely comfortable (more on that later) and boxy, there’s not much to the overall design. It only comes in two colors and the spandex waistband made me think of boxer briefs. It’s very lightweight without being see-through, but I’d still wear a bra if I were lounging around in them.
Comfort. The best kind of PJs are the ones that don’t feel like PJs at all, and I’m happy to report these feel practically weightless. The material feels nice on your skin, and I give the tee brownie points for not having an itchy tag. The elastic band doesn’t poke at my waist, but I wish it were made with the same material as the rest of the shorts.

Sidenotes...
Care. I have limited space in my apartment so I try to avoid line-drying where I can. Since these aren’t supposed to be dried in a machine, I found it a little cumbersome having to find space for it to air-dry week over week. That being said, I do consider the set somewhat of a long-term investment piece, so I’m happy to take the extra step to care for it.
Stock. These PJs were popular from the moment they launched (a good thing), however that means that both the tee and the shorts have relatively low inventory. If they’re completely sold out, I recommend this alternative set that’s made with the same cooling fabric.
