Ever since I got engaged this past spring, it’s been the season of Influencer Engagements. While I have zero plans to go crazy and overhaul my regular routine just for the sake of the single celebration that will be my wedding, I am doing small things at home. Think of these small things as trying noninvasive, manageable, and realistic products I’d use even if I wasn’t getting married. Afterwards, I plan to continue to reach for these products. I’ll circle back in our Skimm Shopping newsletter in a few months with my updated findings.

A microcurrent facial device that costs the same as one facial…
I got a microcurrent facial for the first time last month, and it was an absolute game-changer. It depuffed, sculpted, and fully lifted my face. I just got this device from Foreo and can justify the cost because usually one facial ranges from $200-$300. I know I’ll be getting multiple uses out of this over the next year with its 10 microcurrent intensities. I also love that Foreo has a corresponding app with guided treatments you can follow at home. ($189, Walmart)

A dermaplane starter kit from one of my favorite brands…
I’ve been using Billie’s razors for years, so I’m eyeing their Dermaplane Starter Kit, also for facials at home. I’ve been getting dermaplane done for a few years now to exfoliate and slough away dead skin and peach fuzz. It truly makes such a huge difference in how bright my skin looks and how well it absorbs product. I’ll be doing this throughout the year, making sure to stop about two months out from my wedding to be safe. ({{dynamicPrice}}, Amazon)

Some cult-favorite facial patches that are lowkey a botox dupe…
While I don’t have wrinkles, I do have strong expression lines along my forehead. These patches from Frownies are popular because they’re noninvasive and basically retrain the muscles along the eyes and forehead to not move in their regular pattern. They’re hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic, and I love that all you need is a little bit of water or toner to apply them. ({{dynamicPrice}}, Amazon)

Whitening strips with a hack from my dental hygenist…
Instead of getting an expensive treatment at the dentist, my hygienist recommended using Crest 3D White Strips for one week straight out of every month, starting a year out from my wedding. She said the small, consistent use will be more gentle on my sensitive teeth. Doing this over the course of the year will give the hydrogen peroxide at this level enough time to kick in. A beginner-friendly way to try red light therapy…
Pop out the handle and massage the device in circular motions across your face. After three minutes, the device will blink so that you can switch areas. After 12 minutes, it’ll automatically shut off. It utilizes both red light therapy and heat to depuff, reduce wrinkles, and improve elasticity. It can be used all over your body, and I can attest that I’ve seen results. PS: If you’re looking for a red light therapy splurge, I’ve also been loving this FSA/HSA-eligible hat from HigherDose for improving scalp circulation and therefore reducing shedding. (I’ve even noticed the regrowth of new baby hairs since starting!) ($89, Nordstrom)

A glowy highlighter for no-makeup makeup days…
I’m not going to lie, I’m not really a makeup person. But I do love nearly effortless products that enhance my natural features. This Glow Stick from Chanel is something I’m majorly eyeing for my wedding makeup, as it provides a natural luminosity without being overly glittery. ($48, Chanel)

A blush that isn’t overpowering…
I’m still looking for my perfect wedding day blush, and this one from Merit is a high contender. It isn’t too flushed, and because of its sheer finish and compact applicator, it’s easy to control how much product you want on your skin. It comes in 13 shades and will be great to keep on hand for touch-ups, too. ($30, Merit)
