Fitness Accessories

Wearable wrist and ankle weights that’ll amp up any workout…
Wrap the Bala Bangles around your wrists or ankles to add an extra challenge to barre or Pilates classes, or to amp up your morning walk. Each bangle weighs two pounds, and they’re easily adjustable and can be cleaned with your usual yoga mat cleaner. You can even wear them around the house to turn chores into a workout. ($65, Free People)

The most stylish Pilates socks we’ve ever seen…
Let’s face it, anything Alo Yoga makes, we’re going to want. These grip socks are a step up from your usual pair of Pilates socks, thanks to the chic mesh panels on the ankles, cushioned toes, and compression around the arch for support. They’re perfect for Pilates or barre classes and look cute worn with a tennis skirt or athletic dress for your daily walks. If you’re looking for something a little more affordable, this six-pack from Amazon will do the trick. ($28, Alo Yoga)

A Fitbit wearable to help you track your progress…
To set realistic goals and achieve them, a fitness tracker is a huge asset. This Fitbit will tell you your heart rate (while you’re working out and resting), how much oxygen is in your blood, and your stress and sleep scores. You can choose whether or not to receive notifications from your phone, and it even has a built-in GPS. It comes in three colors and is much sleeker than other activity trackers we’ve seen. ($129+, Walmart)

A water bottle with a straw to keep you hydrated…
Whether you’re running on a treadmill or in the middle of a workout class, there’s hardly time for unscrewing the cap on your water bottle. This double-walled, insulated one has a straw for easy drinking and keeps water cold for up to 24 hours. It’s leak-proof, rust-resistant, and comes in six sizes ranging from 14 to 64 ounces. ({{dynamicPrice}}, Amazon)

A set of fabric resistance bands that won’t slide or twist…
Unlike rubber bands, these will stay in place. So while you’re attempting a crab walk across your apartment, the band won’t bunch or ride up your thighs. It comes with three resistance levels and a carrying case for traveling. They work well for stretching out tight calves or hamstrings, too. ({{dynamicPrice}}, Amazon)

A headband you can wear from the gym to brunch…
When we saw these wide headbands of our youth come back in style, we were thrilled. It’s a great way to keep hair out of your face while you’re working out, wick away any forehead sweat, and add to your workout ’fit at the same time. This one has a gentle grip so it’ll stay in place while you’re moving around. ($10.54, Walmart)

Yoga blocks to support your at-home practice…
One of our editors swears by these yoga blocks for her at-home yoga classes and meditations. They’re soft, latex-free, and nonslip, so you won’t lose your concentration when you’re hanging out in standing splits. For beginner yogis, they’re helpful for finding the right alignment. ({{dynamicPrice}}, Amazon)
Post-Workout Recovery Items

A muscle-soothing CBD balm…
Just apply this balm on sore muscles and joints to experience immediate relief and speed up recovery, thanks to the potent topical CBD it contains. It also has jojoba oil and organic beeswax to nourish your skin. We love that it’s easily stashed in your bag and is fragrance-free, so it’s sensitive-skin friendly. ($33.60, Lazarus Naturals)

A Theragun massager you can take with you to the gym…
The Theragun Mini, the most affordable of the brand’s massagers, is small enough to fit in your gym bag but doesn’t skimp on the ability to help work out cramps, knots, or tension. It has three speeds and comes with three attachments to target different body parts. You can also use it in tandem with the app for predesigned routines. Psst…you can use your FSA/HSA dollars on it. ($199, Neiman Marcus)

A set of therapy balls to help you roll it out…
Use these rubber balls to pinpoint muscles that are sore or tight and help them to release. If you’ve ever seen someone using a lacrosse ball for the same purpose, these are like those, but softer and specifically made to help you get rid of muscle pain. They’re great for rolling your feet if you’ve been standing all day, too. ({{dynamicPrice}}, Amazon)

A two-in-one foam roller you won’t dread taking to the gym…
Thanks to its lightweight design (it weighs 1.7 pounds) and dual functionality. This roller is perfect for relieving any tension built up after a sweat session. You’ll get a traditional grooved roller, recommended for your arms and legs, and a smaller, rounded roller for your back that can be nested inside. It comes in a chic black and white pattern. ($64, Lululemon)

A cryotherapy roller that takes the mess out of icing…
Once we started using this ice roller, there was no going back to the ice-in-a-paper-towel method. Simply pop it in the freezer for two hours, and it’ll stay cold for up to six as you ice your shins, knees, and feet. The rubber grip makes it easy to hold, and it can even be used to depuff your face in the morning. ({{dynamicPrice}}, Amazon)

An acupressure mat that can provide full-body relief…
This mat utilizes the traditional principles of acupressure via its gentle stimulators that activate different pressure points throughout the body, releasing tension and achiness. The mat is made from 100% cotton, and the pillow is filled with plant-based foam. This feels great after a workout, but it can also provide relief after spending all day sitting at a computer. ({{dynamicPrice}}, Amazon)

An electrolyte powder that actually tastes good…
Not only is this watermelon powder delicious when mixed with water, but also it contains everything you need to replenish your body after an intense workout or hot yoga class. It’s a combination of electrolytes and minerals, like calcium, magnesium, zinc, and sodium in the form of Himalayan pink salt. We’ve also found it works wonders after one too many glasses of wine the night before. ($44, Moon Juice)
Gym Bags

A gym bag great for those who love organization…
If you lay your outfit out the night before and are obsessed with packing cubes, we have a gym bag for you. This small duffel has separate compartments for your shoes, water bottle, and even your sweaty gym clothes once your workout is done. Most of the sections are vented, too, so none of the odors will stay in the bag. ($249, Haven)

A quilted carryall that’s the ultimate Mary Poppins bag…
This customer-favorite bag from FP Movement is lightweight, flexible, and thanks to its nylon-esque material and quilted pattern, is incredibly durable. It has a zippered top for added security and spacious interior and exterior pockets to keep you organized. It really is a does-it-all bag. It’s easy to wipe down after holding your sweaty gym clothes and comes in so many fun colors. ($68, Free People)

The Dagne Dover duffel that’s just the right size…
Goldilocks would approve. This neoprene duffel is not too big and not too small, fitting everything we need for a workout and a change of clothes to head straight to the office. It has a laptop sleeve, two pockets for water bottles, and is expandable. The best part? The discreet pocket on the back of the bag where you can stash your phone. ($185, Dagne Dover)

A trusty water-repellent backpack…
We’ve used Lululemon’s backpacks for years and have never been disappointed. This one is made of water-repellent fabric that’s so easy to keep clean and has pockets for your laptop and water bottle. It also slides over a suitcase handle if you want to use it as a carry-on. It comes in three neutral colors. ($98, Lululemon)

The gym bag you likely used in high school…
Never underestimate the power of the classic Adidas gym bag. It’s made of incredibly durable polyester to withstand years of use. It has all sorts of pockets, including a separate compartment for smelly shoes. With the resurgence of trends from our teenage years, these bags are bound to come back in a big way. Go ahead, be the most stylish person at the gym. ($40, Adidas)
