The special edition of SkimmU will provide tactical advice on navigating kids’ major life milestones.
October 17, 2022 (New York, NY) – theSkimm, a mission-driven digital media company, announced “SkimmU Parenting: Parenting Today,” a special edition of the SkimmU course series. Taking place Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 1pm ET, the free, virtual event will provide information and advice to help parents make the best decisions for themselves and their families while navigating the impact of the pandemic, less-than-ideal learning conditions, and childcare shortages.
“Two years after the pandemic began, we’re still working to understand if and how kids’ development was impacted by distance learning, Zoom rooms, and virtual socializing,” said theSkimm’s VP of Content Development, Eugenia Cassidy. “While kids are going back to school, things are still not back to normal, and the challenges parents faced during COVID are still very real.”
The 45-minute course, presented by Danone North America and moderated by theSkimm’s Eugenia Cassidy, will include a panel discussion and audience Q&A. Panelists Dr. Judith Joseph, Board Certified Psychiatrist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Langone Medical Center; Dr. Natasha Burgert, Board Certified Pediatrician; and Anne Laraway, General Manager of Happy Family Organics, a Danone North America Brand, will explore how parents can help support their children 2+ years into the pandemic and ensure they don’t fall behind – whether they’re entering daycare for the first time or transitioning to in-person learning, the best ways to support kids’ academic, social, and emotional development, and how to manage the ups and downs of parenting.
