If you love to read, today’s newsletter is for you. I had the pleasure of interviewing booktrepreneur (at least that’s what I’m calling her), Zibby Owens. She’s sharing all of her book recs for the summer and beyond. After you scroll, be sure to check out our full interview with her here. We’ve even linked to some of her corresponding podcast episodes with said authors, so you can learn more about the books before you read them.

body oil

Body oils are perfect for this time of year because they provide lightweight hydration. Our editor found two luxe options:

Like Osea’s Undaria Algae Body Oil? Try L’Occitane’s Almond Shower Oil.

  • Osea: This body oil has a citrus-y scent and is infused with seaweed, which nourishes your skin with antioxidants. It’ll also firm, hydrate, and increase luminosity. This differs from L’Occitane’s in that it isn’t marketed specifically as a shower oil, so if you’re looking for a nonlathering option to use after the shower, try this one.

  • L’Occitane: This product has a cult-like following, especially after blowing up on TikTok this year. We love that this is a do-it-all product: it lathers into a moisturizing body wash, and can be used as a shaving cream or a hydrator post-shower. It has a sweet almond scent. If you prefer non-sweet scents though, go with Osea’s.

“The Rom-Commers” by Katherine Center

“The Rom-Commers” by Katherine Center

  • The story: Emma’s been a full-time caretaker for her dad, so her life (and dreams of becoming a screenwriter) have been on hold. So when she gets the opportunity to rewrite a script for famous-yet-broody screenwriter, Charlie Yates, she jumps at the chance. The catch? The screenplay is supposed to be a rom-com, which Charlie hates with a passion and Emma loves. If you’re into Katherine Center’s rich character development and a juicy enemies-to-lovers romance, read this.
