Get out.
Remember when an epic summer to-do list could bring the Internet together in pursuit of #goals? (And hashtags were used unironically?)
Flash forward to now: The number of Americans that took time off in June was the lowest since the pandemic… when we literally couldn’t leave the house. Those who are taking PTO are going on shorter trips, thanks to anxiety over the economy and job security. Related: President Donald Trump’s tariffs are set to take effect later this week (we’ll see).
BUT… if you think the golden hour ship has sailed on having one great pre-Labor Day adventure that fits your budget, think again.
I scanned all the blogs, threads, and reels to find new travel savings hacks that you can actually use (and at least one you’ll think is nuts). You’re welcome…

Buy someone else’s vacation. People are reselling their nonrefundable trips — flights, hotels, reservations, the works — at a steep discount. It’s Poshmark for your passport.
The micro trip. This insane strategy for cutting hotel costs is catching on, and I can’t believe I’m saying it, but I’m intrigued.
Solo-ish travel. Traveling alone is cool (we see you, Tracee Ellis Ross). So is splitting the bill. Meet the group trip that lets you cross "safari" off your bucket list –– while giving you some space.
Pay for your flights in the morning. Early in the morning.

Is Now a Good Time?
According to some workplace experts, the best time to give or receive feedback at work is:

Don't waste your money on the wrong things. We’re here with the highest quality options that match your budget.
This week, we’re talking towels: The summer MVP that may need an upgrade, especially if they’ve accidentally strayed from the bathroom to the beach.
Most Affordable: Amazon Basics 2-Piece Quick-Dry Oversize Bath Towels ($16.63, Amazon)
Best for: Budget buys that get the job done. These towels aren’t ultra-soft (especially after a few years of washes) but they hold up surprisingly well. No pilling, no scratchiness, and they dry fast. Perfect if you need a set ASAP or want an extra set for guests or the kids.
Our Recommended Everyday Towel: Quince Turkish Classic Bath Towel (Set of 2) ($49.90, Quince)
Best for: A high-quality everyday towel that feels a little luxe without the splurge. Soft, absorbent, and made from 100% Turkish cotton, it's the kind of towel that makes your post-shower routine feel like a small upgrade.
Our Recommended Higher-End Option: Brooklinen Super-Plush Turkish Cotton Bath Towel Bundle ($154, Brooklinen)
Best for: Luxe, long-lasting comfort. These towels bring serious “checked into a five-star hotel” energy. Thick, plush, and made to last for years, they’re ideal for a newly reno’d bathroom, a wedding registry, or just upgrading your everyday routine.
